The Wolf on the Veluwe!
Fun OERRR excursion with Natural Monuments for kids from 8 to 12 years old!
The wolf is definitely back in our country. After a she-wolf has officially settled in the northern part of the Veluwe and has met a male. The male and female had five cubs in 2019. In addition to this wolf pack on the North Veluwe, there are now more packs in our country. And how; Last year several packs were added and as far as we know 39 cubs were born.
That doesn't mean everything is going well. We really have to learn to live with this species again. In other countries, where the wolf has not left, this is going very well. If you want to know more about this beautiful animal, come to this excursion.
So join our guide from Natuurmonumenten and discover everything about the life of the wolf in the Netherlands. During a beautiful walk through the Veluwe forests you will get answers to questions such as: How do we recognize the tracks of the wolf? And what can we do if we find those traces? What should we do if we encounter a wolf? How do wolves live? What do they hunt and how many kilometers do they walk in a day?
Information and cooperation
Many people know little about how the wolf lives. Natuurmonumenten therefore works together with other organizations to provide information about the wolf. For example, in areas where wolves settle, Natuurmonumenten works with sheep farmers to ensure that their livestock is protected. Natuurmonumenten also organizes special wolf excursions to provide information about the behavior of the wolf and how we as humans can live peacefully with this animal.
You will not see wolves during this excursion. but will you howl like a real Wolf? Have you ever heard this sound? There's a good chance the sound will give you goosebumps. It's wonderful to hear, but also a bit scary. They do this to keep all the wolves (pack) together. You will howl like wolves during this excursion, just like in a pack.
